Texas Children's Hospital
Texas Children's Hospital was founded in 1954 as primarily a pediatric training site for the Baylor College of Medicine. The then three-story 106-bed pediatric hospital has now expanded throughout Texas, with campuses in Katy, TX and the Woodlands, TX. TCH is a proud leader in pediatric care and patient care, and is home to best place in the country for pediatric cardiology and heart surgery, as well as pulmonology.
TCH Junior Volunteer Program
Texas Children's Hospital Volunteer Program was founded in the 1960s during the hospital's period of vast growth and expansion. The volunteer program is committed to maintaining an active program of support, compassion and quality service for the community of children and families we serve, as well as the staff of Texas Children's Hospital, while providing meaningful and challenging opportunities for those who volunteer.
Services
Texas Children's Volunteer Program offers a variety of service opportunities for volunteers to provide the utmost support for the patients and their families.

Ambulatory Clinic
Volunteers in the Ambulatory Clinic provide play opportunities and read to patients in clinic waiting areas.

Healing Notes
Volunteer musicians share their talent with patients, families, and staff, allowing them to experience the healing value of music.

Radio Lollipop
Volunteers take part in the in-house radio station, Radio Lollipop, where patients can participate on the the radio, win prizes, request songs, or tell jokes on air. Volunteers meet and greet patients in the studio or distribute arts and crafts directly to the patient's room.

Snow Cone Cart
Volunteers travel throughout the hospital to deliver snow cones to patients and their families.

Activity Room
Volunteers in the Activity Room provide an environment where inpatients can relax, create crafts, and participate in normalizing play. Activity rooms are designed for toddlers to children ten years of age.

Guest Services
Volunteers greet, assist, and provide directions to patients, visitors, and staff in a welcoming manner from an information desk.

Patient Navigator
Volunteers greet and assist patients, families, and visitors with wayfinding and resource information by walking patients and families to their destination within the hospital. Volunteers will be warm and welcoming faces to provide way finding information and be available to answer questions regarding various resources.

Fun Cart
Volunteers travel throughout the hospital to deliver toys to patients and their families.

Toy/Gift Shop
Volunteers assist sales associates with greeting customers and restocking displays in one of the five Auxiliary Gift Shops.
